About me
I am a fully qualified acupuncturist and member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) www.acupuncture.org.uk with a general practice in both Fulham, West London and Lewes in East Sussex.
I became a licensed acupuncturist in 2005 after a 3.5 year full-time course in both TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and 5-Element Acupuncture at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading.
As well as treating a wide variety of conditions particularly stress related disorders, sleep issues, stomach problems, headaches and pain management I have a special interest and post-graduate training in acupuncture for fertility and pregnancy.
I am passionate about helping women to have the kind of births they deserve and together with a group of like-minded acupuncturists in Brighton we have set up the Acupuncture Childbirth Team or ACT Brighton and Sussex www.actbrighton.org.uk.
We are a team of practitioners dedicated to enhancing the birth experience for mothers and babies. We provide treatment and support throughout pregnancy and prepare women for birth with acupuncture from 36 weeks. We teach acupressure techniques to birth partners to use during labour and are available for home visits during labour and post-natally.
We are closely linked to ACT London www.actlondon.org.uk and ACT Oxford www.actoxford.co.uk - the original group in Oxfordordshire hold an honorary contract with the John Radcliffe NHS Trust and have access to attend births at local hospitals.
My London practice is also the base for the Natural Natal Centre www.thennc.org which was set up by osteopaths, Andy and Melinda Cotton DO and the alternative practitioners at the Fulham Osteopaths. We work together to provide coordinated, packages of holistic and complementary health care for men and women seeking help with fertility and support throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.
In the Brighton and Sussex area I am part of Act Brighton and Sussex www.actbrighton.org.uk We are a team of practitioners dedicated to enhancing the birth experience for mothers and babies. We provide treatment from pre-conception through pregnancy and birth and are closely linked to ACT London www.actlondon.org.uk and ACT Oxford www.actoxford.co.uk.
I am also a member of the Acupuncture Fertility Network (AFN) www.acupuncture-fertility.org The AFN is a special interest group for acupuncturists dedicated to supporting men and women with fertility problems. Group members are committed to on-going post-graduate study through Continuing Professional Development.
