Pregnancy
"Just to let you know all went well. I was home for most of my labour and only went to hospital an hour and a half before giving birth. And I went home less than 24 hours later. Thank you so much! "

Acupuncture at regular intervals throughout pregnancy women can be more relaxed, more aware and more physically and emotionally prepared to give birth.
The healthier and more relaxed your pregnancy is the more likely you are to have a more natural and enjoyable birth and the better you will be able to cope once your baby is born. Acupuncture helps morning sickness, back ache, sciatica, sore hips and improves sleep so that you have better energy reserves for your labour and for after the birth.
Pre-birth acupuncture from 36/7 weeks has been shown to improve labour outcomes and shorten birth duration whilst acupuncture induction can help start labour once you are overdue.
Hanna is part of a team of practitioners in Brighton and Sussex www.actbrighton.org dedicated to enhancing the birth experience for mothers and babies. They provide acupuncture and support throughout pregnancy and teach acupressure techniques to birth partners to use during labour and are available for home visits during labour and post-natally.
They are closely linked to ACT London www.actlondon.org.uk and ACT Oxford www.actoxford.co.uk - the original group in Oxfordordshire hold an honorary contract with the John Radcliffe NHS Trust and have access to attend births at local hospitals.
